“It was great to see a familiar face and know that I had a woman there who had prior birthing experiences. It made my entire birth more positive. Good Energy!”

“I had an extremely positive experience with Michelle-Nicholle as a doula. She was very attentive, helpful and professional from the first prenatal visit to the last postpartum check up. I really wanted to have a natural childbirth. I had a very involved labor that lasted for over 26 hours, and all this time Michelle-Nicholle was by my side helping me to focus on my breathing and showing my husband and my mom other techniques that could help to ease my pain. When I was weak and exhausted, she negotiated with nurses, always making sure that the medical intervention was performed when it was absolutely needed. After a long and intense labor, my son was born – a big healthy boy of 9lbs 1oz. Michelle-Nicholle stayed a few hours after his birth making sure I felt comfortable breastfeeding and handling the baby. I felt that Michelle-Nicholle took very good care of us and I would definitely recommend her to any future mom who wants to have a much-needed support during her pregnancy and labor.”

my stay at the hospital. She made things easier for me by helping me to do things that I wouldn’t have thought of to make my hospital stay less difficult. At the hospital she kept me calm through the whole labor and she made it more about me
than anything. My doula helped me stay relaxed and less frustrated through my labor and she kept reminding me to breathe. I like my doula a lot because her main purpose was my comfort and she is very sweet and understanding.”

“I cannot recommend Simone highly enough. After an extremely difficult and lengthy first delivery with my son, I was terrified at the prospect of a repeat experience. From the moment I met Simone, her sense of humor and calming presence immediately put me at ease. With Simone’s help and expertise I was able to labor mostly in the comfort of my own home. At the hospital she worked with the medical staff so I could focus on laboring. It is only with her help and guidance that I was able to have the natural child birth experience I wanted.”

“I had heard about Doulas through a class I took and knew that I might be interested in some help postpartum. I am one of those women who feel like I can do everything myself, and that I don’t need any help and I usually succeed without asking others for help. But, my husband’s and my family don’t live close by so he really encouraged me to hire Michelle-Nicholle.
Our goals were to have someone we could call who would not be judgmental about our “stupid” questions. We also knew there were going to be things that we couldn’t think of ahead of time that she would be a great resource for.
After our little man was born, she was really invaluable for lactation help and support. I also eventually used the lactation consultants at Longmont United Hospital, but it was great to have someone come to the privacy of my home. I did not give birth in a hospital so I did not have the one on one instruction….but I did take a breast feeding class. Even after the class there are still tons of questions and issues that arise and I felt supported by my Doula for sure.
Michelle-Nicholle helped me through a challenging first two weeks of breastfeeding. She helped me change the way I thought about his eating habits, she observed and made sure I was doing everything correctly, and she was able to answer all of my questions about feeding. She even helped me figure out how to get a tiny little baby into a Moby wrap!
I knew that she was qualified, so for the first interview I was more interested in learning if I could hire someone with a personality that I liked. I didn’t want to hire “help”, I wanted to feel like I had a friend who was knowledgeable coming over to assist me and I definitely felt that way with Michelle-Nicholle.
I am now almost 3 months into motherhood and I feel like I have a good grip on things. The first month is a crazy time for first time families and I really recommend hiring a postpartum Doula!!!”
